Chantal and I are thrilled to have been invited to be a part of an upcoming seminar hosted by Lifetime Networks of Citizen Advocacy on Wills, Estates and Power of Attorney. This day-long event will highlight the many issues that need to be considered when planning for the future of a loved one who lives with a disability.

The morning will consist of an overview on estate planning including Henson Trusts, executor appointments, beneficiary designations and so much more. In the afternoon, we will present on the various options of substitute decision-making including guardianship and Powers of Attorney. After each presentation, there will be an opportunity to speak in small groups with Chantal and myself. This will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions relating to their unique family and client situations.

This workshop is an opportunity for parents, caregivers, siblings and professionals alike to gain an understanding of the issues affecting their loved one or client and help plan for the future in the best way possible. It will be held on January 19th from 9:00 am to 3 pm at the Bethany Hope Centre located at 820 Woodroffe Avenue. If you would like further information or wish to register, click here.
